Partnering with the most ambitious founders building the future energy system
Our Vision
We believe the future of energy will be defined by electrification and orchestration. As economies replace fuel-based systems with renewable electricity, energy becomes increasingly interconnected across power, transport, buildings, industry, and digital infrastructure.
This transition creates a more dynamic and complex energy system. Electric vehicles become flexible grid assets; buildings become both consumers and producers of energy; industrial processes become increasingly electrified and digitally controlled. As renewable generation scales, the ability to forecast, optimise, store, transport, and coordinate energy becomes as important as producing it. Technologies such as AI, advanced software, and digital infrastructure play a critical role in enabling this coordination.
Creating this new energy future requires bold thinking and new business models. Future Energy Ventures exists to accelerate that transition by investing in the platforms, intelligence, and technologies that enable electrified energy systems to operate efficiently at scale. We partner with founders building solutions that help manage complexity, improve resilience, and unlock new sources of value across the energy ecosystem.
Future Energy Ventures is rooted in the energy industry, but we recognise that the future energy system extends far beyond traditional sector boundaries. Its success depends on collaboration between energy, mobility, industry, buildings, and digital technology. That is why we invest in companies that sit at these intersections, helping create an energy system that is more productive, resilient, and sustainable.

Frequently asked questions
-
Our sweet spot is digital, scalable and asset-light companies seeking Series A and beyond funding that have shown evidence of a product-market-fit.
-
If the company is raising series A we invest between €1-5 million. For later stages we invest between €5-10 million.
-
We focus on the intersection of energy, electrification, and frontier technologies—where physical infrastructure meets software. In renewable energy, we invest in the systems that make electrification work: storage, grid intelligence, and energy optimization. Within accelerating electrification, we back technologies that digitize and connect the built environment, transport and mobility and industrial transformation. In frontier tech, we invest in the core capabilities—AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and advanced computing—that enable entirely new energy and infrastructure models.
-
We do lead investment rounds but it is determined on a case by case basis. It’s not a yes/no answer but an ‘it depends’.
-
What really sets us apart is our network of highly committed partners and our integrated collaboration platform. We provide our portfolio companies with funding, mentoring and connections to accelerate their growth trajectory.
