A decade ago, when we founded Future Energy Ventures, our conviction was clear: Europe’s competitiveness and the future of the planet both depend on abundant clean energy supply, electrified demand and digital infrastructure to orchestrate it all. Over the years, that conviction has only grown stronger. Today, as energy demand is rising, legacy systems are under strain, and geopolitical tensions reshape alliances, reliance on imported fossil fuels isn’t just a climate problem, it’s a systemic risk.

Global investment in renewables and electrification has reached record levels, yet the systems underneath remain fragmented and vulnerable. Europe’s reliance on imported fossil fuels has made that clear, exposing real gaps in resilience while also pointing to an opportunity: to lead in building the backbone of the next energy era. We believe that leap comes not from increased capacity alone, but from connectivity and intelligence, the layer that lets clean energy flow, balance, and adapt in real time.
For investors, the opportunity here is economic as much as environmental. Panels, batteries, and chargers are commoditizing. All that hardware works together at scale through software and AI: the systems that orchestrates and optimizes across grids, buildings, vehicles, industry and more. That layer is still being built, and that’s where the real value and impact sits.
