Investment Insights: Pstryk
1. The Big Picture
The energy transition is changing not only how electricity is generated, but also how consumers buy, manage and optimize it. As households adopt rooftop solar, batteries, EVs and heat pumps, electricity is becoming an active service rather than a commodity. We believe this creates one of the largest opportunities in European energy today.
2. What Pstryk Does
While many startups focus on a single part of this value chain, Pstryk is building something much broader: a vertically integrated, technology-first utility. The company combines electricity supply, energy management, real-time data and customer relationships in one platform, creating significantly greater value capture than point solutions. We believe this integrated approach is more difficult to build, but also substantially more disruptive and defensible over time.
3. Why It Matters
Poland is a particularly attractive market for this strategy. It is one of Europe’s largest residential electricity markets, yet remains dominated by incumbent utilities with limited customer focus and relatively little innovation. At the same time, Poland has become one of Europe’s fastest-growing markets for residential solar, batteries and electric vehicles, while increasing renewable penetration is driving greater wholesale price volatility. As regulated retail prices are gradually phased out, consumers have a growing incentive to actively manage their energy consumption. We believe Poland today resembles the early transformation seen in industries such as banking, insurance and telecommunications, where digitally native challengers successfully disrupted long-established incumbents through superior customer experience and technology.
4. What Convinced Us Most: The Team
Finally, what convinced us most was the team. Pstryk combines two skill sets that rarely exist within the same company. On one side, the team includes experienced energy executives who understand the operational complexity of running a licensed utility, trading electricity and navigating regulation. On the other, the founders bring a proven direct-to-consumer and e-commerce mindset, with a track record of building brands and scaling digital businesses. In our experience, this combination is exactly what the next generation of energy retailers requires: deep industry expertise paired with an obsession for customer experience.
5. Looking Ahead
We are excited to support Jacek, Magda, Leszek, Mirek and the entire Pstryk team as they build the next generation of residential energy platform in Poland.
